Robotic Tail Workshop

After students showed interest in the tail mechanism of Brando, we decided to expand on this concept and develop a robotic kit to introduce students to mechanics, electronics, and programming in an engaging way. The kit includes 3D-printed parts we designed, as well as servomotors, a microcontroller, and all the necessary electrical components.

This workshop has been conducted three times, each with over 30 students. During each session, groups successfully created a functional tail and explored creative ways to customize it, demonstrating strong interest and engagement in the activity. Take a look to some snapshots below!

The mechanism of the tail was granted a patent in May 2024, thanks to collaborative efforts with Feng Chia University.
